ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
THE OLIVE-HOUSE ACADEMY is a co-educational school with stretching educational goals of international standard. We cater for early years foundation stage (Pre-school) to Key stage 4 (secondary). Situated in ORIMERUNMU TOWN off the LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESS road by Total filling station on the Nasfat Praying ground side of the road just before Redemption Camp, Ogun State, Nigeria.
Olive-House was borne from a leading by God to establish an academy for tots to teen-age. It is aimed at parents who desire international standard type of education in their community but do not need the hassle of travelling to other states or go further afield. It is also targeted at families who aim to raise children to meet their full potential along with invaluable life skills.Their needs are being met by this school.
We provide a secure, happy, stimulating environment, with a strong ethos of care, courtesy and a warm community feel. In this atmosphere our students grow and flourish, making the very best of their talents to achieve success and not being afraid to chase their dreams. We believe all our students have gifts and talents and it is our job to help realise these to the full.
The Olive-House Academy, is committed to creating a comprehensive and nurturing environment where children develop a love for learning. We aim to work in partnership with families to provide the best education for the students in our care. We have an open door policy to problem solving. We believe children need a nurturing approach to strive, hence, our students are encouraged to achieve their very best through a wide range of positive behaviour strategies.
We explore different learning styles like aural, logical and visual using different educational equipments to ensure high standards and expectations for all.
The values and skills that student learn at Olive-House Academy enable them to move into new situations with a sense of being prepared and with the assurance that they are sufficiently resourceful to meet any challenge.
The School offers an excellent breadth of curricular and extra-curricular activities and the staff lead by example and are very hard working, and the students follow. Our staff inspire and care for young people: they work energetically in support of the aims of our girls and boys and, in doing so, mutual respect is developed.
At Olive-House Academy, we track our students’ progress by their academic development, personal well-being, and gradual transition to adulthood across the teenage years.
Our students are taught to think for themselves and they can work very well in groups. Equally parents are also encouraged to support their offspring during their time at the Academy.
Our Setting: We have small class sizes to ensure participation of all the learners .
We have seasoned educators as members of the board of governors. Our chairman on the board is Hon. Justice George Adesola Oguntade (Rtd) CFR, CON, FNIALS, and other members are Dr. Olajumoke Akitoye, a quintessential educationist who has lectured for over 34 years at the Medilag (LUTH) and United Nations. Mrs Iffy Laleye, educationist par excellence, born into a family of education inspectors and being in the teaching profession for over 25 years, she is the programme leader (adult learning and skills service) at the London Borough of Hammersmith, UK. Mrs Modupe Abosede (an ex-principal of Lagos state schools, a retired director at Lagos state civil service. Eng. Eniola Thompson , Rev.Olu Olowo and Barr.Abosede Oguntade-Oworu.

At OLIVE-HOUSE Academy, we believe that a strong foundation built during the early years is the key to success, both academically and in life generally. OUR VALUES AND LEARNING
Our values led education has its focus on a cross-curricular approach. The Leadership team will celebrate the successes of children who have best demonstrated the values we seek to uphold.The values are Integrity, Thoughtfulness, Gratitude, Honesty, Enthusiasm, Responsibility, Compassion in human relation and Respect for all.
We believe it is important that children gain leadership skills and we nurture this in a number of ways, such as electing team captains, participation on the School Council and Young Leaders scheme or our highest honour, to be elected as Head Girl or Head Boy.
Our children are encouraged to learn music, with one to one tuition available for a variety of instruments, including keyboard,recorders, trumpets, guitar, saxophone and drums available. Music therapy is used to improve pupils’ emotional wellbeing, enable communication and improve confidence.
Physical exercise is also a compulsory part of the curricular where children develop their concentration level, increase stamina and it encourages active lifestyle from a young age.
In English we offer pupils as many reading opportunities as possible, including through the use of ICT. All children read every day with an adult through our Daily Guided and Supported Reading programmes. Writing skills are strengthened by making strong links with foundation subjects.
Subject coordinators are continually looking at improving pupils’ outcomes and raising standards in their area of responsibility. Through teacher’s forum, pupils benefit from best practices applicable at other schools.
Our professional development programme has a strong focus on up-skilling teachers and support staff to be more effective when teaching a class and working with a group or individual child. Our embedded and consistently applied behaviour strategies will enable our pupils to resolve their differences more constructively and to participate better in lessons.
