According to Mrs. Kehinde Nwani, Chief Executive Officer/Group Managing Director of Meadow Hall Group; “I’d like to specially appreciate and commend the Lagos State Government for its commitment to the Education sector. It has initiated programmes such as Code Lagos and has implemented the new Education policy, amongst other things. We say more grease to your elbows and we at the Meadow Hall Group promise that we will continue to partner with you in your bid to make Lagos State a truly excellent place”.
She further stated that “To the Glory of God, Meadow Hall Group is the first indigenous Education service provider which can truly boast of catering effectively to the needs of children in the three domains of learning – i.e. cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Meadow Hall Group is passionate about children and their development from a holistic point of view and this is delivered through its six subsidiaries namely; Meadow Hall Education, Meadow Hall Consult, Meadow Hall Branchise, Meadow Hall Foundation, Meadow Hall Resources and Spring Meadow Edutainment, all geared towards equipping children to be able to give full expression to their unique talents”.
According to her “Meadow Hall Edutainment Centre (MEC) is a fun centre where children can develop a myriad of skills while having fun, as the name implies; it is a fusion of education and entertainment. The centre will indeed help children become well rounded individuals as their innate talents are identified and developed. What makes MEC unique is the fact that it is a one stop shop where all children (not only children from Meadow Hall) can register and develop their skills in their talent areas”.
Mrs. Nwani announced with delight that “Meadow Hall Edutainment Centre is the first of its kind in Lagos and in Nigeria at large. However, we hope to franchise these centres as soon as possible in order to spread best practices all over Nigeria, as we take the centres closer to the children and their parents. I stand to say that within the shortest possible time, all of us here will gather again not only to celebrate the success and achievements of the centre, but to celebrate the children of the centre who would have distinguished themselves and made their mark in the sands of time”.
In her keynote address, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Idiat Oluranti Adebule, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, who was represented by Mrs. Yetunde Adefolahan Odejayi, the Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office, Lagos State thanked Mrs. Kehinde Nwani, the GMD/CEO, Meadow Hall Group for the vision of the Meadow Hall Group not only in setting up a centre like this for the development of children’s talents but for also putting God first in the pursuit of the Meadow Hall Group’s vision. She encouraged the management of Meadow Hall Group to replicate the Meadow Hall Edutainment Centre in other parts of Lagos State to cater for more children.
The event was filled with excitement as Mrs. Sobulo Hajarah, a parent spoke on behalf of all parents and the general public. She thanked the management of Meadow Hall Group for this noble idea and their passion for raising excellent, Godly and well rounded children. According to her, she has registered two of her children at the centre and she is fully satisfied with the result. She encouraged other parents to register their children at the centre because academic excellence without creativity and multiple intelligences will put a child at a disadvantaged position in this present world.
Some of the students of the centre demonstrated their talents and knowledge in the area of Music, Afternoon adventure and STEM especially robotics as the Centre Manager, Mrs. Ademayowa Adeogun took members of the high table and journalists on inspection tour of the centre facilities immediately after the commissioning of the Centre.
After the inspection of the Centre facilities, Mrs. Yetunde Adefolahan Odejayi, the Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office, Lagos State in an interview with journalists thanked Meadow Hall Group for their innovation. She stated that “the robot was able to perform in 10 seconds. You can see the swimming pool, the music area, and the young lady and the boy that did the national anthem. You could see that this organisation is very deep in their taught towards enhancing and nourishing the child so that development will be total in a child. Some people will end up to be academics while some people will take up some other things that before now nobody have been putting attention to. The Serenas of these days are into ad-hoc activities and they are making a lot of money and even names. They are really inspiring other people. So also this Edutainment centre, I am sure will bring out fantastic children given the opportunities available at this Centre to make a child total in all its educative activities”.
