Our highly Personalised Learner Systems provide a distinct process through which students’ strength, potential; ability and interest are identified and harnessed. At Lead-Forte Gate College, the Curriculum offered is based on the British / Nigeria Curriculum with reference made to INDIGENOUS LEARNING experiences. In addition, our approach to education creates a solid base for future development. This encourages a culture of independent learning that challenges students to accept greater responsibility for their learning. Our Processes, Procedures and Policies are guided by our Belief that “every child matters”. We are therefore able to cater for students with a wide range of learning abilities. THE CURRICULUM At Lead-Forte Gate College, the Curriculum offered is based on the British Curriculum with emphasis laid on “real life application” and reference made to INDIGENOUS LEARNING experiences. The curriculum is a six year programme divided into two phases: Key Stage 3 is a three year program running from Year 7 – 9. At this stage students are introduced to a variety of subjects ranging from the Arts, Humanities, Languages and Sciences. However, in the last year of the key Stage which is Year 9, the students sit the Cambridge Checkpoint Examination in English, Mathematics and Science. At this point our students have completed the Junior High School syllabus ready to proceed to the Senior High which is the Key Stage 4. Key Stage 4 is a three year programme which begins in Year 10. The focus of these three years is centered on the preparation of the IGCSE and WAEC Students can take a maximum of eight subjects and a minimum of 5 in order to get the International Certificate of Education (ICE) awarded by the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES). It is important to note that our students sit the IGCSE in their subject option choices and have a time-table devised to suit their specific individualised needs. At Lead-Forte Gate College your child is assured of a curriculum that incorporates both the social and academic aspects to learning, which promotes our core belief of the need for a holistic approach to education.
