Our school was established in 1983 and has sustained the mission to provide a dynamic international learning environment to pupils aged 2 to 16 years old. Our pupils enjoy very rich and rigorous education, based on the English National Curriculum.

We are totally committed to supporting every pupil in the most appropriate way. Importantly, pupils are active participants in the learning process. The school has a team of highly educated, graduate teaching staff, many of whom have been with the school for 15 years or more. History

Norwegian International School is situated in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria. Port Harcourt is an industrial town, located in the southern part of Nigeria. It is also a major oil producing city in the region.

Norwegian International School began in 1983 with two teachers and approximately twelve students. The school was founded in order to meet the needs of the expatriates working for Eastern Bulkcem Cement Company.

As the years went by, NIS grew and children from other companies began to attend NIS. Today, the school is enriched with different nationalities and continues to provide top quality international education to children from ages 2 to 16 years old.
