At shalom Secondary School we offer a broad and balanced curriculum based on the national curriculum. Field trips, excursions, seminars and workshops are integral parts of the curriculum in all subjects.

The Institution, Shalom International School was founded by Sir (Hon.) Chidi Amadi and his wife Lady Vidal Amadi. Their passion to bring up unique children in a spectacular approach and good learning environment brought to the fore the amiable citadel of learning called Shalom International School. The zest was to address social ills rampant in most educational institutions of late and evident in their granduands and regrettably employees, most especially at the foundation stage – Nursery & Primary levels. The school was formally registered as a private institution in the year 2000 and thus received the approval and permit from the Rivers State Ministry of Education. Shalom International School was established to rekindle professional essence with regards to the provision of qualitative service delivery to the pupils through the application of teaching facilities and equipment. Also, the deployment of passionate and motivated skilled man power to produce results that can always be relied upon has been a major boost. The school stated on a humble note with just 18 registered pupils, 4 teachers and 4 functional classrooms. By dint of hard work and endless search for perfection and excellence, the school has indeed witnessed phenomenal growth and development in all spheres of her operations. Presently, the registered pupil population stands at 540 with over 30 functional classrooms and a total staff strength of 72. In our relentless bid to lay a sound and solid foundation for an all-round education for our pupils and thus achieve the objectives of the school, such facilities like a modern Science laboratory, Fine Arts Studio, ICT Centre, Music Studio, Home Economics Laboratory and a well-stocked Library have all been put in place to cater for the various academic needs of the pupils in particular and the school in general.
