At Tender Oaks, our aim is to help children become confident and competent learners. This we do by providing a very high quality of education in a relaxed and happy atmosphere under the dedicated leadership of our Head Teacher and the Proprietress. Our quality of teaching is consistently improving pupils to achieve well and make good progress during their life in the school. Learning in Tender Oaks Pre-School is achieved through fun and hands-on activities. The children take part in assessing what they have learned. Methods of assessment by the teachers reflect individual development. Conferences between the teachers and parents monitor the development of the children. As well as recognizing the importance of concepts, knowledge, and skills, our approach places great importance on the development of positive attitudes toward people, the environment, and learning. This is achieved through the children identifying and modeling elements of the learner profile. The learner profile consists of ten attributes: inquirers, thinkers, communicators, risk-takers, knowledgeable, principled, caring, open-minded, well-balanced, and reflective - which promote positive social interaction, cooperation, and responsibility for their environment.
