Apple Valley International School (AVIS) was founded in 2021. The founders wanted pupils in Kumasi, and for that matter Ashanti Region, to have the opportunities of gaining an unparalleled international knowledge, and they made provision for less privileged pupils within our operating community, who would be known as Heritage Scholars, to be educated at AVIS free of charge. AVIS is a value-based school focusing on the development of young people with the potential to grow into the shapers of Ghana and the world. Through a variety of academic and co-curricular programmes, AVIS aims to nurture future shapers who demonstrate leadership, high ethical standards, excellence in one or more areas, and civic engagement – regardless of their socioeconomic and cultural background. At AVIS it is our job to teach our pupils life lessons, social values, and skills that will carry them into the world beyond. Our pupils benefit from the intellectual quality and inspiring teaching of instructors who are passionate about their jobs, and ready to support the positive development of character and attitude. We firmly believe that pupils learn as much beyond the classroom as within it, and as much from each other as from their teachers. Our job is to create a positive climate in which these good things happen – but above all to send AVIS pupils into the world believing that they have as much to learn as they have to give.
