The name Cedrus is an Hebrew version of Cedar (Cedar of Lebanon,Cedar of God). Cedar tree is known to be of great spiritual and economical importance, it is believed to be durable and gives good value hence it was used in buildings king’s palace and great temples Cedar or Cedrus literally is a symbol of resilience, support, strength, hope and so on.The Cedrus libani tree was thought to be an entrance to higher realms. All these unique values of Cedrus libani tree are what we believe in and it is upon it that lies our values.It is meant to remind us of the solid rock and foundation we need to give our scholars while we expect them to have all the values and importance of the Cedrus libani tree.

This was the mind set of the Director when she established the school seven years ago Cedrus Academy was established on the 26th of Aril ,2013 as a private school .It started with Crèche, Pre-School, Nursery and Primary sections using a blend of Nigerian-British curriculum adopting Montessori scheme and method of teaching with the aim to provide a broad and balanced education for all the children within a happy, stimulating and healthy environment so that each child will achieve the best he or she can. Discovering what each child loves and enhancing it. Since then the school has grown remarkably hence the establishment of Cedrus High School in 2018. There has never been a dull moment with us at Cedrus Academy!
