Deoke Foundation School was established on 6th September, 2002 by the Director; Mr. Emmanuel Kobla Degbotse, a Civil Engineer by profession. The school was commissioned ten months later, precisely on 10th May, 2003, by the then Honourable Sheik I.C Quaye, the Greater Accra Regional Minister under the erstwhile Kuffuor Administration. Mr. Degbotse is really passionate about education, especially at the basic level. This explains his decision to set up not just a school but a school with international standards, situated near Fanmilk Junction within the Ga Central in the Greater Accra to serve the community of Ablekuma and its environs. Acquiring a tract of land which was water logged, everybody thought it was impossible to develop a land of that kind into a school. In the face of apparent impossibilities, perseverance, which is one of the key words in Deoke Foundation School’s motto, kept Mr. Degbotse to go on with the establishment of the school. Today, the land which everyone rejected is currently hosting the well structured Deoke Foundation School. The School commenced operations with initial staff strength of nine (9) made up of: a headmaster, two nursery teachers, four teachers to teach primary one to four, one administrative staff and a watchman. Currently, the school has grown in leaps and bounds from twenty-seven (27) students at start of the school to three hundred and fifty (350) students from the crèche to J.H.S 3. The student population is expected to increase into greater numbers in the near future. Facilities in the school have improved tremendously from a mere seven (7) classrooms to a fifty-two (52) classrooms over the space of ten years. Staff strength has increased from the nine (9) to currently forty (38) staff members. The school can now boost of a well-furnished computer lab, well behaved trained teachers with good teaching skills and an ultra-modern library with over four thousand (400) books. Other facilities that are being developed are the ultra-modern administration block with a bookshop, and two (2) recently acquired buses which are the envy of all.
