That is why we at First Star Academy strive to provide education that challenges, explores and grooms every aspect of the learners’ personality. Our facilitators are professionally equipped to adapt, develop and provide seamless learning aimed at excellent academic performance through the incorporation of modern teaching methods and also ensuring that we are actively working on the physical, social, emotional and the spiritual training of our learners. There is an unimaginable collaboration among all the stakeholders in the field of education including administration, teachers, parents and learners for the transfer of knowledge in very innovative ways. I am convinced that, the positive attitude, hardwork, sustained efforts and ingenious ideas exhibited by our staff will go a long way to support each learner to fulfill the First Star Academy dream of “Reaching the Highest Height”. First Star Academy Had a humble beginning. It was started by a devoted Christian Mrs. Grace Awua as a Day Care Center at her home on 11th January 1988,with an initial capital of 10,000.00. The center was named ‘KIDIES DAY CARE CENTRE’ to reflect the age of the children, ie. Three months to five years group. Kidies Daycare grew steadily at the proprietress home. As the number of students increased the proprietress built more classrooms behind the house to accommodate the children at the school. Due to the proprietress vision and drive to provide the best Daycare Centre in the Tema Metropolis that instilled in the children the importance of God and the fun in education, the day care was mentioned as one of the best Daycares in the Greater Accra region in 1993 After running the Daycare for some few years, parent expressed their wish for the Daycare to have a continuation school to avoid parent from sending their children elsewhere when their children turned 6 years and were ready for primary school The management of the Daycare heeded to the calls of parents and decided to acquire a plot of land at community 12 to have the continuation school from primary to JHS. A new name befitting the development of the school that is First Star Academy emerged. The first block of the school that served as the Primary one and two classes, was completed in 1994 and occupied in the same year, the first block of classroom now serve as the kidies Department after the kidies Daycare was relocated from the proprietress house Since its inception First Star Academy has grown leaps and bounds to its current status of being one of the best schools in the Tema Metropolis. Over the years the school has won several awards such as the Ayekoo ,Tema Excellence Award and placing first in Environmental and sanitation assessment to mention a few. With some of the best, dedicated and well trained teachers you will find in the field, it does not come as a surprise to see First Star Academy rising to the highest heights To establish Pre-school, first cycle, second cycle and eventually tertiary institution to augment the Government’s effort to train, educate and empower the children of Ghana to be responsible, law abiding and efficient performance of their duties excelling in their various areas of operation.
