Focus International College was founded on September 11, 2000. Admission was offered to twenty one (21) students who were successful in the entrance examination conducted on Saturday 5th August, 2000. Full academic work commenced on Monday September 11, 2000 with six permanent teaching staff and three non-teaching staff at its temporary site. The school obtained its Government approval to present the first set of candidates for Junior School Certificate Examination slated for June 2002. In the result, 8.39% scored A’s, 71.6% had credit while number of passes amounted to 19.85%. There were no failures. On several occasions the school participated in external contest which involve quiz competitions, debates, impromptu speeches, miming, poem recitation and sporting activities. The students always come back with prizes in most of their invited external contests. Focus International College attained a Senior School Status shortly thereafter and presented her first set of candidates for West African Senior School Certificate Examination in May/June 2005. We had overwhelming result as the Higher Education Potential (HEP) was 100%. The school curriculum is fully loaded as students are drilled in sciences, arts, commercial and technical subjects.Blocks of 12 classrooms had just been completed. A new permanent site located in a serene environment free from distractions characteristics of urban centers had been purchased. Work is going on in earnest to complete the site.
