GOF is an acronym for Gbenga Olowe and Funke, the team founders of GOF International Schools, located in Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire. The school began in Ejigbo (Osun State) at the Nursery and Primary level in 1986 before the addition of the secondary arm in 1995. This was later followed by the establishment of the Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire) branch in 1999- a move necessitated because of the close ties between Ejigbo indigenes and Cote d’Ïvoire, and also because of parents’ earnest yearnings for an English-oriented curriculum for their children in that diaspora.
