The Inomwan Foundation School was established by General Godwin Osagie Abbe (Rtd.) CFR, in memory of the Late Madam Inomwan Ikhuenbo, who passed on to glory on the 30th of March, 1983. The Foundation Blocks were laid on 10th January, 1995, after a prayer session officiated by Rev. U. G. Osahon. On completion of the School plant, a Certificate of Registration, fully endorsed by the commissioner of Education, was handed over to the school management, with the mandate to run the nursery and primary education. After eleven years of unprecedented progress and strategic implementation of the Nursery and Primary School Curricular, the purposeful leader and pragmatic administrator per excellent, General O. Godwin Abbe (Rtd.), with the unflinching support of his wife, Deaconess Mrs., Patience Eniye Abbe, took the bold step to establish Inomwan Foundation Secondary School (IFSS). It was founded as part of the efforts to produce great leaders of the 21st century that will transform and positively change the course of events in our dear country, Nigeria. Very conscious of quality, General Godwin Abbe was very hesitant in his decision to venture into the secondary school. Although pressured by parents, whose children have had the uncommon privilege of passing through the Inomwan Foundation School (Nursery and Primary); nothing was done until he became convinced that he could deliver quality in the implementation of the secondary school curricular. Full-scale academic activities began while the purposeful administration, General Godwin O. Abbe was on meritorious national assignment; first as the minister of Interior and much later, Minister of Defence. The Inomwan Foundation Secondary School under the administrative competence of Deaconess Mrs. Patience Eniye Abbe; was approved by the government at inception on the 15th of September, 2007. Only eight (8) academic staff and fourteen (14) students were admitted. Today, with just few years of operation, the population has grown very significantly. We are very grateful to the Almighty God for his abundant grace, and for bringing to fruition, the good dreams of indefatigable amiable daddy, General Godwin Osagie Abbe, (Rtd.), CFR. At the pinnacle of his successful and blissful military career Maj. General Godwin Abbe (Rtd.) and his amiable wife, Deaconess Mrs. P. E. Abbe nurtured the idea of contributing positively to the development of the society. Amongst many options, they opted for the development of human capacity which is the engine room and catalyst to nation building. The ball was set rolling on 10th January, 1995 when the foundation stone of Inomwan Foundation School was laid. Normal academic activities commenced on 16th September, 1996 with an initial enrolment of 32 pupils and 12 members of staff. Since then the school has grown astronomically in lips and bounds.
