Kerusso Montessori school is established to meet the all round learning needs of children aged between 18 months and 6 years. We understand that every child is unique and so is their ability to learn. Having this in mind, we aim to assist every child to reach their maximum potential with ease. We are located in a calm and quiet neighborhood, off Circle mall road in Osapa London. We have a toddler community class (TC) with children between the ages of 18months and 2.5years, and a children’s house class (CH) with children between the ages of 2.5years and 6 years. Each class is fully furnished with the appropriate Montessori materials and at least one certified Montessori directress. Toddler community (TC) The toddler community is designed for children between the ages of 18months to 2.5 years. The primary goal for the toddler community is to ‘help me to do it myself’. We encourage children to learn by doing and we incorporate a sense of learning and accomplishment into their everyday tasks and activities. We know that children are so much more capable than parents and caregivers give them credit for. We will give these capabilities expression The children’s house has children between the ages of 3years and 6years. However, depending on how ready the child is, a 2.5 year old child can be admitted into the children’s house. These activities help the child to attain independence. Cultural : This integrates traditional subjects like history, geography and biology in the Montessori classroom. Math: Here the child learns to count and understand the concept of numbers and quantity. With materials, the child also learns addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The child will truly understand what each one means in their deeper sense. Language : The child is taught language through a specific progression of lessons, from becoming aware of different sounds in of a letter to learning to build and read phonetic words using the different rules in a given language. There are five major curriculum areas in the children’s house; Sensorial : Activities in this area allow the child to develop and refine each of their senses. They will appreciate color, texture and even taste. Practical life: In this section, the child finds materials and exercises from everyday life.
