Lee's Kingdom Kids Montessori school was established out of the need to provide an educational facility that meets the needs of the people of Tarkwa and its environs. The Owners of the school saw a big gap between the quality of education that is provided in the big cities of Ghana and that which the people of Tarkwa were receiving. Even though Tarkwa is a Gold Mining Town with huge financial outlay for education, one could not lay a hand on what could be described as a competitive educational standard across the length and breadth of the Golden Municipality. A snap survey of early childhood education portrayed a standard that could not prepare the children for any better challenge in future. The standard could also be seen as a challenge that needed to be tackled with all seriousness through the introduction of a hands on teaching with practical demonstration to unearth the talent that was deposited in the children at birth. It was out of this that the school was born on 1st September 2011, first as an International school, and later changed to a Montessori School to adopt the teaching method and practices of Montessori education which focuses primarily on the discovery and development of children talent through demonstration and activities. Starting with three children on the day of commencement, the school attracted many parents who brought their children to experience the type of education that was churning out children who were provided with the right level of teaching, discovering their talents, and allowing them to exhibit what they learnt through art, culture, exposures and demonstration. Initially, the target of the school was the elite class. However, the Board members saw the need to open up to children of all class simply because children of lower and middle class also had the interest to be trained at the school. The Board also decided that the school would extend scholarship to such children by subsidizing their school fees to give them the opportunity to be trained by the school. After two years of its establishment, the school has now grown from a humble 3 children to 350 children. This achievement could have been bigger if the school had enough class rooms to admit more children, bearing in mind that the Board decided not to admit more than 20 pupil per class to enable teacher to pupil ratio more effective to handle.
