During my ten years stay in Madina Islamic School, the school has offered tuition and training to young children within Madina and its immediate environs. The course and aim of our institution has attracted and sustained qualifed and dedicated tutors without whom this great school would not have achieved this feat. By virtue of the strategic location of MIS in the community, it has been able to attract and maintain qualified and dedicated teachers. With the enclosed nature of the campus infrastructure coupled with the support of school management, MIS has been able to maintain integrity over the years. This has led to the school being used as one of the examination centres for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). We pride ourselves in the quality of education offered at MIS. In addition to the approved Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum, MIS also provides tuition in Islamic Education, Arabic language and humanitarian services thereby inculcating Islamic moral values in the pupils. Hence, most of the pupils who complete MIS are able to gain admission into very good senior high schools and subsequently into some of the best tertiary institutions in the country. Currently there are four past students serving in the school as teachers. One of the biggest challenges of the school is the lack of parent support and the community as a whole in terms of payment of fees and provision of learning materials. This attitude has led to low remuneration delay in payment of salaries to the staff which is very dedicated to the pupils and the profession. In spite of all these odds, MIS has a record of 100% pass in Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) between 2006 and 2011. Ghana Islamic Society for Education and Reformation (GISER) has not only been very supportive at all times in providing and maintaining infrastructure in the school but also occasionally aids MIS financially. The society also offers scholarships to the orphaned pupils. Despite all these challenges, Madina Islamic School is relentless in its mission towards the vision of aspiring to be the best basic school in the country.
