Okanlawon Science Academy is a pragmatic co-educational secular school. We believe in individualizing education to meet the needs of all our students. This is approached by data gathered from frequent and progressive assessment of students to place them into small groups based on their needs. The concept of adequate mastery is adopted in the learning process in every small study group. As a pragmatic school, all science based subjects are given adequate practical attention at all levels. It is our belief that student motivation and desire to learn is critical and this is primary in our teaching methodology.

The Academy was established on 21st September 2009 with four teachers and fifteen promising students. The school started at Isopako Olaiya, Railway line, Osogbo. Since then, it has been growing in leaps and bounds which called for relocation to the present temporary site at former Oroki Children Nursery School; Adejumo Street, Alekuwodo Area, Osogbo on the 7th of July 2010. The school got the State of Osun Ministry of Education approval in 2012. It sought and got the approvals of West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO). to present candidates for 2015 SSCE in 2014. In the quest for quality and effective management of the school, the management of OSCA decided to institute a Board of Governors in 2014.
