At Park Royal College, we are delighted to offer the best possible standard of education to our students, as well as opportunities to study subjects in the widest possible range. The PRC secondary curriculum is based on the Cambridge International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) and as an international institution, we also offer excellent SAT and WASSCE lesson programmes, giving the students more options in their higher education prospects. We work closely with the British Council, attending their numerous workshops and training seminars. PRC is designed not only to prepare students for further education, but to provide them with an externally assessed set of qualifications that are accepted throughout the world. Our Lower Secondary curriculum takes the content from the Key Stage 3 English National Curriculum and we deliver using a concept-based approach. The subjects studied include English, ICT, mathematics, science, geography, history, visual art, P.E and French/Arabic. it is compulsory for Key Stage 3 students (Years 7, 8 and 9) to study all the subjects after which all Year 9 students are required to take the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum Test. This Cambridge Checkpoint Examination enables us to assess ourselves as a school and our students get to measure themselves against other students in British International schools all over the world. Key Stage 4 students (Years 10 and 11) continue to study the compulsory subjects and can elect to take more as ‘options’; which culminates in the IGCSE examinations at the end of year 11. The Cambridge IGCSE is a dynamic curriculum that is regularly updated in line with changing needs and is widely recognized by higher education institutions and employers worldwide. Our experienced teachers have access to excellent sources, training programmes and advice from the experts. Examinations are conducted by the Cambridge International Exams Syndicate and all papers are marked externally. The AS Levels are taken at the end of Year 12, while the A2 Examinations are held at the end of Year 13. Mock examinations will be held throughout the A-Level programme. Park Royal College ensures a reliable, student-centered, rigorous, relevant and modern standard-based curriculum developed in a collaborative learning community. It is our priority to prepare students to become citizens in the global community using our leading instructional technology, enhanced extra-curricular activities and career academies.
