When we set out to establish Pledge in 1993, we were moved by the decadence stemming everybody on the face over the falling standard of education in Nigeria. Our worries get worsened now because of the products of tertiary institutions being set out to the wider society in view of the deficiencies in their self-chosen discipline. The situation, as it is now, is just rotten, which is a fall out of their parents fraternization with the ever increasing special centers. To contribute our quote to the redemption of this dangerous scenario, we resolved to embark on this Pledge Project which is a subtle promise of commitment. To fulfill our expectations of solid education at the primary and secondary levels, we realized even at this, that the school will be engaged in a struggle with widespread corruption in education which is fast permeating every aspect of our learning institutions. However, we consoled ourselves with the fact that there are still men and women out there, whose eyes are rich and careful with sound vision for their future and the future of their children. Therefore, we decided within us that money is not our agenda for this project but building human capacity in any child trusted to the care of this school. So, Pledge is a school established for those who are dedicating their minds to adding value to the future of their children. They are smart parents who know the right choice to make to equip their children with the power to be able to defend their certificates anywhere in the world. Pledge does not believe in education without content. We have remained resolute that functional cost – effective and qualitative education that adds life – long knowledge to the children is not negotiable. Therefore, we beat our chest that Pledge is the best home that any child needs in today’s Nigeria to escape being sacrificed for butchers of knowledge in their abattoir of special centers. We encourage and motivate our children to embrace hard work and to dream success.
