Redeemers international high school, (RHIS) Awka was established in September, 2006 and it kicked off with eleven (11) students in J.s 1 and J.s 2. The school came into being in line with the vision that the Lord gave to Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the general over-seer of the Redeemed Christian church of God and his wife Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye. This vision was turned reality through a bold step by the then provincial pastor of the Redeemed Christian church of God, Anambra Province, Pastor Jimi Ajibade and his wife Pastor (Mrs.) Ayo Ajibade to establish the school against all odds. RIHS started first in the uncompleted provincial headquarters of RCCG Anambra Province and later moved into the present site. The land was a gift/seed from a member of RCCG who recides in the United States of America in the person of Dr. (Mrs.) Chinyere Okoye. She donated the land as my own Isaac� as she described it. The school was dedicated on Thursday 24th January, 2008 by pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, Mother � in � Isreal, RCCG. The first principal of the school was Mrs. Remy Andrew with the vice principal as Mrs. Okonkwo Chidiogo, now the principal of the school. The school is being managed alongside Redeemer's International Nursery/Primary School, which started with five (5) pupils in the nursery section and a teacher. By the year 2007, owing to the introduction of Universal Basic Education (UBE) System, coupled with the clamour by parents living around the vicinity, for primary school, the primary section was established with primary 1 - 4, otherwise known as basic 1 - 4. To the glory of God, through the leadership support of the next provincial pastor of RCCG Anambra Province, Pastor Chamberlain Nnakire and his wife Pastor (Mrs.) Victoria Nnakire, and the dedication of the principal Dcns (Mrs.) Okonkwo Chidiogo with her entire staff, the school has made massive progress in terms of structures, Academic, moral and spiritual standards and has grown numerically as well. The school has graduated several students over the years, who were outstanding academically and in conduct and have gone on to diverse institutions of higher learning. The school has never relented and will never relent in giving qualitative education, inculcating discipline, excellence and the fear of God in her students. Every year has been as better year, as the school keeps marching on to take her place amongst the ivy league of schools of the world.
