RODAB INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE (RODABINC) is a new world-class Muslim secondary school borne out of passion and concerted effort to provide an enabling environment for the Muslim child to excel despite the challenges posed by the complex but delicate interaction between expectations of the parents, religious values, culture and the child’s God’s-given potentials & talents in an emerging ICT driven, morally downgraded society. Vision: To provide an all-encompassing, integrated system of education that will produce academically sound, morally upright and proficiently skilled Muslim children that can compete well with their contemporaries world over while maintaining high standard of Islamic ethics that guarantees success both in this world and the hereafter Mission To create an academic environment with seasoned teachers with modern teaching aids and styles that will spontaneously stimulate the interest to learn and instinctively unleash the God’s-given potentials and capabilities of the children which will be harnessed to achieve supreme success Curriculum The aim of the curriculum is to enable each student to achieve her or his full potential while being guided, tutored and mentored by well-coordinated and systematic principles. We shall run an all-encompassing integrated system in which Islamic education will be integrated with the western studies and vocational skill acquisition while also providing opportunities for social development of the children. This is to ensure adequate and complete development of all the three domains of learning- cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitudes) and psychomotor (skills). We do this by organising a weekly timetable of lessons using a variety of learning and teaching styles and providing the best resources we can. Students will work sometimes on their own and at other times in pairs or groups directly supervised and sometimes unsupervised but closely monitored to ensure self-dependence. Practical work and participation form an important part of many lessons, but there are also times for listening, reading, thinking and writing. While Information and Communications Technology (ICT) will be taught and practiced as a subject, it will also be used in many other subjects as teaching aids. Educational visits, excursions and residential trips will be used to enhance the curriculum as needed. Homework enables students to extend their studies and practise skills they have learned in lessons. It helps them to learn to work on their own, and also to involve their parents in their studies. The use of the Student Planner which has been developed by the school helps students to organise their study time, and parents are asked to check and sign this every week.
