Royal Regency Schools and Academy started off in September 2004. The School was founded primarily to provide quality but affordable education where ever it is located. What agitated the mind of the founding fathers of this winning academy were principally the questions: should quality education be the exclusive preserve of the affluent in society? What should be the equitable cost of good education? Can’t quality education be affordable? Thus with a modest team of three made up of Head of School Folashade Ogunsheye-Ogunsuyi and two foundation teachers, the school formally opened its doors on that fateful Monday. The school opened with an equally modest 7 pupils in all – all of Kindergarten age. But a city set on a hill cannot be hidden! Thus in no time, the good news that a good school has berthed in the neighborhood soon spread like flood of blessings. And the parents came in droves and soon the pupils and their satisfied parents became the ambassadors and marketers of the school. ‘Regency Schools’ (as it is fondly called by all) was founded on the twin foundations of excellence in academics and character training along Christian principles of man fearing his God and loving his neighbour. One of the most interesting phenomena about our school is its strong appeal to people of other faith despite its Christian flavour! Indeed, the vast majority of our student populations are of other faiths. Regency School is a secular school. Today, Regency Schools (Nur/Primary) boasts of enrolment of over 150 pupils spread across our Kindergarten (Pre-School), Basic (Primary) Schools. Regency is presently a Day School but plans are underway to introduce Boarding facility for families desiring this.
