SAMBANK ACADEMY is a secular school. We offer an education service radical in vision with an excellent track record of exam results and educational innovation. For us simply teaching the students to pass exams is not enough, we aim also to build character, creativity , make acquisition of skills attractive, and promote personal development. Although traditional formal teaching procedures are followed, students are strongly encouraged to think for themselves and carry out research under their own initiative. There are many sporting and other co-curricular activities available for enrichment. When our students eventually leave after their 12th Grade, they are well -rounded, confident individuals, fully equipped to meet the challenges of higher education, or the working world. HISTORY OF SAMBANK ACADEMY COLLEGE The school was founded on 19th September, 2005 under the name Bethel Comprehensive College. It became Lagos State Government /Federal Republic of Nigeria as well as National Examination Bodies: West African Examination Council (WAEC) National Examination Council (NECO) recognized and approved in the year 2007. On 16th July 2016, a new management comprising the chairman board of directors, the head of school/proprietress (SOLARIN O. O.), and the administrator tookover the ownership and running of the affairs of the school. After a period of three years, a new name SAMBANK ACADEMY COLLEGE was officially approved by the Ministry of Education on 21st January 2019.The school is now involved in visionary, cutting edge development programmes for both students and the staff. The head of school, who is very experienced in the role, provides very good support and challenge to the school. She has vision for raising further standards of achievement. Hence, the school is focused on raising the standards and on developing a multi school campus in the near future. The leadership team has created a good and inclusive climate to make the school an effective learning organization. The leadership sets a clear vision for the future of the school as a highly innovative and outward looking institution. She brings a passion that all children can achieve and that education can make a significant difference to young people's lives. To achieve this, she works with experienced and dedicated principal officers to motivate and influence both students and staff. The day-to-day interactions between staff (both teaching and other members of staff) demonstrate the mutual respect for each other. OUR CULTURE OF LEADERSHIP The leadership of the school believes in firm but fair discipline, and that order must prevail at all times, but within a friendly atmosphere- because students cannot learn effectively in an environment that lacks control and commitment. Accordingly, systems will be in place to encourage peer responsibility and respect for staff. By developing awareness of social skills, communication skills, cultural appreciation, and traditional moral standards, the well-rounded approach goes far beyond simply helping students to achieve their maximum academic potential, it helps them to become better human beings.
