Sapphire Stones Schools (SSS) operates the nursery and primary, junior and secondary levels of Education as stipulated by the Nigerian National Policy on Education. It has been recognized and accredited by the Lagos State Ministry of Education, West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) for their examinations. This indicates that SSS has satisfied these examination bodies in respect of premises, general organization, the control and supervision exercised over students and staff, the quality of teaching and support services including the suitability of subjects for the needs of students. The name Sapphire Stones College, which is a precious stone, was conceived from Exodus 24:10 and Exodus 28:18(KJV) in the Bible. Our motto is “Knowledge is Strength”. We aspire for our students to know that they are unique and help to build their self-esteem in order to compete favorably wherever they find themselves. We believe that the Word of God can and does affect and mould lives therefore we counsel our students on issues relating to morals and on their academics with the backing of the word. The school has recorded in the past years excellent results in the various external examinations especially the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO) and our students have been gaining admission into universities of great reputation all over the country. Apart from this, we are working towards inculcating the British Curriculum very soon in order to also prepare our students for international examinations such as IGCSE. This will offer our students more choices of post-secondary education. Our teachers are also expected to be shining examples to the students hence we prioritize on the quality of staff we employ so that together, we can teach and inculcate sound morals and attitudes into the life of our students. Sapphire Stones Schools a co-educational day and boarding secondary school for boys and girls was started by a Christian widowed pensioner and retired school teacher, Mrs. J.I Akeredolu on the 22nd of September, 1997 but with the name “Molayo Children’s School”. It started operation with the nursery and primary section on 174, Meiran Road, Alagbado, Lagos and there were only eight pupils on admission with three teachers. The secondary arm commenced operations on Monday, 22nd September, 1997 as “Sapphire Stones College.” There were four teachers,one clerical staff, one cleaner and two students on admission on that day. The nursery and primary section was approved by the Lagos State ministry of Education on 5th April, 1993 under the then headmaster, Late Mr. J. Erinle who retired on 1st December, 1998 and was replaced by Mrs O. Olusakin who is the Head of Primary section till date. The secondary arm was also approved by the Lagos State Ministry of Education in December 2007. Mrs O. Elegbede resumed office in September 2012 as the Prinicipal/School Administrator and still remains in office till date.
