The Sathya Sai Nursery & Primary School, Lagos, is a non-denominational school, actively promoting the unity of faiths. It rests on the pillars of the five universal human values of Love, Truth, Peace, Right Conduct and Non Violence. The aim of the school is to be a model School in human values education.  The School is committed to providing a holistic education that develops the child not just academically, but also builds character through its values-infused education with the purpose of raising consciousness.

The Sathya Sai School started off informally in the year 2000 at the request of the headmaster of a nearby village school, who saw volunteers from the Sathya Sai International Organisation (SSIO) regularly performing service activities like providing food and medicines to Bamboo village near Ajah, Lagos.  He came up with a request to the volunteers to engage in providing basic education to more children in the village as there were not many schools and all children were not into regular schooling.  Very soon, SSIO sprang into action and commenced the school project.   Volunteers served whole-heartedly and were not only ready to provide education to the needy but also willing to collect children who were hawking peanuts and coconuts for a living in the streets.  The children who were wandering aimlessly and wasting time were also picked up and introduced to a regular school going habit.  This was appreciated and encouraged by the community.   The School continued to operate in Bamboo Village from between September 2000 to August 2006, till just Primary 3.  It was relocated to Oroke village in December 2006; the Sathya Sai Educational Foundation was registered and the School brought under it. The School is now firmly established and is an integral part of the local community.  It functions hand in hand with the host community, encouraging its participation in achieving its mission.
