omanya Secondary Technical School was established in 1970 with a student population of twenty five (25). It was duly registered by the then Ministry of Education with Registration No:. ER/V/2 on 20th November, 1972, with the name Somanya Vocational Technical Institute. The registration number was later amended as No. ER/TC/2 by the Ghana Education Service when the school became Somanya Secondary Technical School to reflect the courses offered in the school.
