St. Anthony's International School

The idea of setting up this school started in 1979, when the proprietor Dr. Edward Ohore was an education student of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Lagos, Akoka. The Role models then were Late Dr. Taiye Solarin of May Flower School, Ikenne, Other proprietors include Late Chief Abayewa of Lagos Security Commercial Academy, Obanikoro, a school where Dr. Ohore later worked as a Physics teacher. By 1979, the government of Chief Jankande took over all private schools in Lagos State; this singular act delayed the take of St Anthony Int’l schools. The school take over project was short lived as government rescinded the policy and gave room for private schools to spring up. In 1995, the school started operation after obtaining a provisional approval to operate in No 2 Salako street Ijaye-Ojokoro as a primary school, then in 2002, we also obtained a provisional approval to operate a secondary school in the present location; In 2000, the school moved to its present location No 6 Akinsola Street and by 2004, the school successfully got subject recognition approval for SSCE and NECO. The first set of grandaunts gave us 100% as all of them got 5 credits or more including Mathematics and English. This excellent performance has since been maintained. Excellence has been our watch word from the beginning and intends to be maintained going forward. Apart from ensuring that our academic staffs are university graduates, we encourage in-house training and re-branding to keep our academic staff up to date on the best practices.
