Statesman College Abakaliki

You are hereby welcomed to Statesman group of Schools; a city of formation and learning. The Statesman Schools was born in September, 2004. It was born out of the missionary passion to shed light into the darkness of our world. The name “Statesman” was chosen because the word encapsulates the idea of the school. A statesman is a person who through divine and personal efforts has been able to help, enlighten, emancipate, enrich and develop his people and the society at large for the benefit of humanity and for the glory of God. In our world, Statesmen include Bishop Samuel A. Crowther (for bringing Christianity and civilization into Africa), William Wilberforce (for stopping African slave trade), Mahatma Ghandi (for bringing freedom to Indians), Mary Slessor (for stopping the killing of twins), Serena Williams (for great exploits in sports), Aliko Dangote (for special business acumen), Bill Gates (for innovations in computer), Steve Bantu and Nelson Mandela (for saving the Blacks of South Africa), Mother Theresa of Calcutta (for serving the poor, the needy and the weak), Gani Fahwehmini of Nigeria (for fighting for human rights), Martin Luther King Jnr (for fighting for the right of Black Americans) and others. Certainly Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the hidden inspirer and the first of this College of Statesman. It is our vision that all the children who pass through the STATESMAN SCHOOLS will acquire enough training, knowledge and skills and so be divinely inspired and intellectually equipped to do the positive things these men and women enumerated above did. We have Day Care, Nursery, Primary and Secondary sections. The Secondary Section is also called a College. Our vision is also our prayers. To realize our vision, we have a group of formatters, teachers and other staff who are disciplined, devoted, learned and caring. This college of formators will by God’s grace lead the children to the Promised Land. It is a fact, that no institution can stand and achieve her goals and objectives without laid-down rules and regulations. In line with this, The Statesman School has written out rules and regulations for the welfare of her learners. It is also intended, that those rules and regulations will help us achieve the objectives we have set for the good of our children. We therefore, urge all the parties involved in this herculean task of bringing-up the child to adhere strictly to the rules for the good of all. We have the singular mission of making our children wise, strong and God-loving so as to survive in this dangerous world. We understand that the bulk of our work as teachers of children is enunciated in the letter of Abraham Lincoln to his son’s teacher. Our motto is to empower the children through quality education. God is our helper.
