Akunne Oniah Memorial schools were founded in September 11, 1996 by a philanthropist, Nnabuenyi, Jude Nnamdi Oniah, a business Administration graduate of Enugu state university of science and Technology, also obtained his post graduate diploma from Nigerian Teachers Institute. The school was for the good of the public and for the provision of qualitative and functional education for our children who are leaders of tomorrow. It is a vibrant school situated at Onitsha in the Eastern Region of Nigeria, West Africa and operates pre-nursery for children within the ages of 1-2 years, Nursery, for children within the ages of 2-4 years old, primary school for children between the ages of 5 -8years old. The school equally operates Junior and Senior Secondary Schools, the junior secondary school awards the Junior Secondary School Certificate (JSSC) while the Senior Secondary School awards the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) from the West African Examination council and the National Examination Council. The founder acquired academic skill of nurturing the children from the experience of his mentor, Professor Akunwata James Oniah, a product of University of Suxess, London and Abunnia Ferdinand Chuka Oniah. The school operates, using the Federal Government of Nigeria school curriculum also recognized by the Anambra State Government and the state Ministry of Education.
