Graceland secondary school was given birth to out of a desire to support the Government of Nigeria in her quest to reduce illiteracy to the minimum. Secondly, to rise to the challenges of the decay of trend in moral and academic excellence of the present age. The vision came to rality on the 15th of September, 2003 with five academic staff and 17 students. With Pastor Emmanuel Apeh as the pioneer principal. The first school year ended with one hundred and seventy students since then there has been a steady growth in the student population and staff strength. The student’s population stands at about one thousand with forty one staff members. Since its inception, the school has made a notable landmark academically by maintaining a minimum of 80% pass at credit level in both internal and external examinations. Graceland secondary school is guided by a set of core values that form the six(6) pillars of the school, namely: Exemplary Discipline Academic Excellence Good leadership Conducive Environment Service to Humanity Outstanding performance in out-of-class activities Over the years, leadership has changed hands with: Pst Apeh Emmanuel (HND, PGDE) 2203 to 2010 Mr. Gbasha Terhemba(B.A) 2011 to 2012 Engr. Ungwa Michael T.(B.Engr, PGDE, M.ED) 2012 till date The revolutionary ideas of these crop of intellectuals has tremendously made Graceland Secondary School a firm move-forward t become one of the outstanding school in Gboko. The fully registered school, Graceland Secondary School graduates students in external examinations like WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and BECE. Today, the school can boast of about four (4) first class graduates(from various universities across the country), two are doing well in Ghana, some with mastered degrees, Army/Air force/Navy officers and a PHD holder.
