Kimota Science College, Gboko (KSCG) was founded in 2010 when it was incorporated with Corporate Affairs Commission’s registration RC NO. 924973 donated 3rd December, 2010. The academic activities started in September, 2011 with Mr. Shadrach Besong as the pioneer Principal. The following were the pioneer teaching Staff: - Miss. Asawa Hembadoon Mr. Nomyugh Celestine Mr. Mchiekaan Iorlumun W. Mr. Undu Ngutor Mr. Agber A. Naregh Miss. Kase Charity N. Miss. Najime Jessica Miss. Uti-Bua Jennifer Miss. Aondoakaa Nguhemen Mr. Job Olofu Kingsley Miss. Anyor Hembafan Non-Teaching Staff Mrs. Ihiabe A. Dorathy Mr. Taakpe Bage E. Six of the teaching staff were University graduates and five where N.C.E holders. The college had one block of six classrooms and Mr. Celestine Nomyugh was appointed Acting Principal. In March, 2012 Mr. Ortserga Lim took over as Principal from Mr. Nomyugh. The coming on the scene of Mr. O. Lim witnessed a dramatic change of style of administration. He was focused and highly motivated. His demise in April, 2015 was a great loss for the college. His successor Mr. Augustine Jime took over as principal in June 2015. Meanwhile, the student population increased from 80 in 2011 to 282 in 2017. In 2014, the first set of students took the BECE examination. The result of the examination was very encouraging. Most students had eight distinctions (A’s) and above. Master Tsetim Aondongu David, Onyemaobi James and Miss. Alhassan Janet had 10, 11 and 12 A’s respectively in appreciation and for encouragement; the college gave them one term tuition Scholarship. It is also pertinent to mention that the staff strength has increased from 13 pioneers to 46 as at 2020. Our first sets of students passing out today to pass out are 29, meanwhile the infrastructural growth of the college has been steady with 4 buildings namely: - An administrative block Science laboratories block A six-classroom block and A two-story building that is to hold six classrooms, the library and an open-bay examination/general purpose hall. As for now, the college is a day school. It is hoped that, by God’s Grace, work will commence on the hostel facilities to turn it into a boarding school. Motto Fulcrum of Knowledge: The point or bar on which knowledge/learning turns. We are at the cutting edge of knowledge/learning. Vision of the College Equip and inspire student to great scientists in their chosen field of study. Mission of the College To produce well educated and trained law abiding highly disciplined individuals, well versed in the sciences. The aim of establishing the college is to give quality education to students who will read sciences in higher institution of learning.
