Alf & Bett Scholars adopts the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as well as the Montessori Approach to Childhood Education. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework aims to support children's learning, development and welfare. The principles which guide the work of all Early Years Practitioners are grouped into four themes A Unique Child - every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. Positive Relationships - children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person. Enabling Environments - the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning. Learning and Development - children develop and learn indifferent ways and at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connected. These four guiding themes work together to underpin effective practice in the delivery of the EYFS. Alf & Bett meets the individual needs of all children in the Setting. We deliver personalized learning, development and care to help children get the best possible start in life. We promote positive attitudes to diversity and difference with in all children. The children learn to value different aspects of their own and other people’s lives. This includes making sure that all children and families feel included, safe and valued; that all children and adults are treated as individuals and are not discriminated against; and that all children are listened to and respected.
