The name of our school is Babcecil. The name is derived from two names of the proprietress – Cecilia and her husband –Babatunde. Bab from Babatunde and Cecil from Cecilia gives of Babcecil. Babcecil schools are made up of Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Primary and a Comprehensive high school. Babcecil, as the school is popularly known is a private co-educational school which offers a complete, functional education for children from pre-school to SSS III. The school commenced as a Nursery primary school at inception and has grown to the highest secondary level of senior Secondary school – (SSS). The school was formally approved by the government of Nasarawa state through the state’s ministry of education in 1999. See letter of approval below.

Babcecil was founded in the year 1996 by Pastor Mrs. Cecilia Gbemisola Obisakin; with the support of her husband His Excellency, Ambassador Lawrence Olufemi Obisakin. The first academic session started in September 1996 with three classes namely – Preschool, Nursery I and Primary I. Pastor Mrs. Cecilia G. Obisakin was the first Headmistress until October 1998 when she left for diplomatic service with her husband to the state of Israel. The school was handed over to Mrs. MayenObaigbona as headmistress from October 1998 to 2000.
